First week, second term :)

The holidays went far too quick for me. Was a nice breather to pack the books away, store away some brain cells that were still on fire after years of not being as active, and spend some quality time with my children was fabulous and very much needed.

Back into it and I must say it has been my best week yet. I loved every moment of it.

On Tuesday I was in my usual classromm, with a reliever teacher. I was more actively involved with the students. I took a reading group. Helped with a spelling test, read to the class.

On Wednesday I too was in the same class I attend this day. This day began by a little boy whom i done my science investigation with the term prior. He walked up to me while i was sitting with some fellow CT's before school. He gave me a sealed envelope with Dear Mrs Buckman addressed on the front. I asked if i could open it, he responded with "When i go please". Inside read Dear Mrs Buckman, Thankyou for all we've donme together and its been a pleasure working with you. All my love ......How lovely is that! Made my day!!

Was so nice to enter and be very enthusiastically welcomed and asked if i could please stay the entire day (as usually its only half day visits, then meetings with our MT).

I was offered by the teacher to be aware of students that have good behaviour to earn fern dollars. The students love striving for these rewards.

I watched a dance being learnt for assembly on Friday. It was from the latest Ice Age movie. Was so neat to see the motivation and enthusiasm in the students. I have asked for this to be recorded and put on their class blog so i can watch and comment on. They are looking forward to me watching it, as to am i. I was apart of ensuring the students knew their words for a play in the aseembly also. This was 'The turnip that grew'.

I took my first netball practice. I have a year 5 team. Last term we decided to have our trainings on Wednesday's after school at 3pm. I was impressed everyone turned up, except a girl who was sick that day. I also took Teesh's team. We have our first game this Saturday. I am very excited about this. I also take my daughters netball team, who is a year 6. So this term is very busy for me :)

  1. You have certainly started back after term break with enthusiasm and focus. I can see by your comments that the students are seeing you as someone they value and trust to support them with their learning. Good on you for all the effort you have put into becoming part of the school. I hope your netball team are winning too!
