It was a pleasure to return back to my school this week for some more practical learning and observations. It certainly confirms my desire of becoming a teacher each time I walk into the school, and seeing the effective pedagogy in action.
I struggled last week with remembering some names, however I am proud to say that I took another group P.E lesson and I made a conscious effort that I was going to try my absolute best to remember their names, and I succeeded :) the same students were talking to me Wednesday and I noticed they were even more engaged when I would reply with "Hi x" I feel really proud about that. My P.E lesson I done both last week and this week both went great. I done circle dodge-ball again as I had the same age group, however I have decided to attempt something new when we are doing our inquiry next week, so I look forward to the challenge.
I was privileged to observe two fantastic teachers this week, one class was a senior digital class. That was amazing. I am from the generation of pen and paper so to be shown how effective the technology is with aiding the students further their knowledge was outstanding. I look forward to becoming a whizz on the computers like them.
I saw effective organization and management techniques which I will take with me and use. The buddy system is such an effective supportive system in the classrooms and I noticed this throughout the school with all age groups, the green card system is highly effective and the kids love it.
I read to a class of year 5-6's Tuesday and year 2's Wednesdays, I initially struggle with the thought but I manage to do this ok, but with more practice I know it will become better.
I look forward to SBL, roll on Tuesday
